The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be administered at West on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 7:30 AM in the library. The test is free to all students in grades 10-12. Developed by the Department of Defense, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program helps students to identify potential careers in both the military and civilian workforce. Although the military uses this testing to help identify occupational specialists, students who plan to attend college or technical school will also benefit from this exam, as it helps them to focus their interests on relevant career paths. There is no military obligation required by taking the ASVAB.
Students who are interested in taking the test should see their guidance counselor for a permission form. Students can also review sample ASVAB test questions on www.asvabprogram.com or www.march2success.com.
All permission forms must be returned to Guidance no later than October 16, 2019.
