The AFJROTC curriculum comprises approximately 40% leadership academics and activities, 40% aerospace academics, and 20% wellness activities (fitness and sports activities). All three components are mandated by AFJROTC HQ. Drill and wearing the uniform during certain class days is also a mandatory part of the leadership portion of the curriculum.
Students who sign up for AFJROTC must know that wearing the uniform, fitness and drill are an important part of the program. Don't sign up for AFJROTC if you don't care to participate in these activities.
Co-curricular activities such as Color Guard, Drill Team, paint ball, marksmanship, after school physical training/sports and the annual Military Ball are also important aspects of the AFJROTC program but aren't mandatory for cadets, only highly encouraged and fun. Reference the Co-Curriculars tab and the AFJROTC Operational Supplement for more details.
A Cadet Study Guide, syllabus, welcome letter, and expectations letter are provided the first day of school to provide more information. All students/prospective cadets will review and have a parent or guardian sign and return applicable documents at the assigned suspense. Reference the attached documents in the Welcome window of this tab. Attached below is the latest AFJROTC Curriculum Guide and applicable chapters of the AFJROTC Operational Supplement. The operational supplement is a helpful source for cadets on staff or heading up committees.
